CECIL LYNCH- Pioneer Broadcaster, Olympic Engineer,102

 
 

Modesto Radio Museum co-founder and long time valley broadcast engineer, Cecil Lynch, died peacefullySeptember 5, 2013. He was 102.   He was born June 24, 1911 in Rogers, Arkansas and  was a lifelong Modesto resident moving to Modesto in 1927 from a cattle ranch in Colorado.

He maintained affiliation with the ancestral Hickory Grove community church dating from the Civil War era, at Clifty, Arkansas.   He was  preceded in death by his wife Eleanor, and survived by his daughter Barbara Moore and son-in-law Gerald Moore, two grandsons,  Robert Moore, a computer programmer at Felton, California, and Richard Moore, a teacher of Atmospheric Science at the Naval Postgraduate School at Monterey, his wife Barbara and Cecil’s great grandson Andrew Moore.
 
He was laid to rest in Acacia Memorial Park in Modesto.
