The Museum is Good as Gold!

Welcome to the Modesto Radio Museum.    Modesto’s first radio station was KTRB, and its first day on the air was June 18, 1933.   KTRB didn’t play records; they brought in live bands!

Arkie and His Hillbillies inside the KTRB Studios.
Arkie became close friends with Tex Ritter and Tennessee Ernie Ford.  Both of these stars stayed at Arkie”s home quite often.  Click here, and enjoy the story.
Like Radio, this Museum has come a long way, now with over a 1000 pages of recordings, photos, stories, even videos!  You could be here a while.
Here’s an easy one: Name that microphone!

We are interactive.   For example, museum member, Gary Avey, one-time KFIV Disc Jockey, is a national authority on microphones.   Even technicians from microphone manufacturers come here for advice!   Go ahead and try to stump him!  Just click on The Microphone Man.

Now, about the Museum’s Gold….
